Heading

The United Evangelistic Council is an evangelical not for profit organisation that exists to encourage and sponsor the promotion of the Christian gospel in Australia. UEC's assistance may be in the form of seed funding (where funds are recouped and paid back to UEC) or outright grants. The Council holds the left-over funds from the 1959 Billy Graham Crusades, and acts as a catalyst to increase and enhance the joint evangelistic efforts of evangelical churches and organisations.
Examples of UEC-sponsored projects and events over the last 50 years include:
  • Leighton Ford mission at the Sydney Entertainment Centre in 1986
  • Bicentennial Bible distribution to homes throughout Australia in 1988
  • Conferences on evangelism and church planting in the 1990s and 2000s
  • Multi-church missions (St George and Wollongong, 2011, 2014)
  • Jesus Living Hope Mission (Tamworth, 2016)
  • Antique Bible Roadshow and Family Fun Day with the Bible Society (Albury, 2017)
  • Free To Be (Wollongong, 2018)
  • BIG Youth hosted by [Re]Discover Jesus (Port Macquarie, 2018 and 2019)
  • Ignition Youth Missions with Bible Society (2019 - )

United Evangelistic Council Funding Application
The UEC welcomes applications (using our Application Form) from individuals, churches and organisations for the initial financial support of evangelistic projects and events. Proposed projects may take a number of forms including large-scale evangelistic events, conferences, training courses, or publishing projects. All projects, however, must be evangelical in conviction, evangelistic in focus, cross-denominational (ie have at least two different denominations jointly steering the venture), and demonstrably limited by lack of available funds.
UEC prefers to seed-fund rather than make outright grants. The goal is usually for the applicant to recoup funds (e.g. through ticket sales or royalties) and once recouped, the recipient of funds repays the UEC. By providing such seed funding, UEC will continue to have funds to support new projects and events, although the UEC may provide outright grants in some circumstances. UEC retains the right to select which applicants receive seed funding or an outright grant.
As UEC is based in Sydney, UEC's practice has been to support projects in NSW. However UEC welcomes applications Australia-wide. For such applications we will consider our ability to assist based on our level of involvement and available personnel . Each funding application will be usually considered at the following bi-monthly commitee meeting (dates noted under Contact Us).
After each funded event, the funding recipient must provide a written report on the funded activity - such report to be provided preferably before the next UEC committee meeting date.
Our Doctrinal Statement
  • The divine inspiration and infallibility of Holy Scripture as originally given and its supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct.
  • The unity of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit in the Godhead.
  • The universal sinfulness and guilt of humanity since the fall, rendering men and women subject to God’s wrath and condemnation.
  • The conception of Jesus Christ by the Holy Spirit and his birth by the Virgin Mary.
  • Redemption from the guilt, penalty of the power of sin only through the sacrificial death, as our representative and substitute, of Jesus Christ, the incarnate Son of God.
  • The bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.
  • The necessity of the work of the Holy Spirit to make the death of Christ effective in the individual sinner, granting him or her repentance towards God, and faith in Jesus Christ.
  • The indwelling and work of the Holy Spirit in the believer.
  • The expectation of the personal return of the Lord Jesus Christ.
